As a conveyancer, understanding survey plans is essential for ensuring accurate property transactions. However, deciphering the technical language and nuances of these plans can be challenging. Our recent workshop, “Demystifying Registered Plans for Legal Practitioners” presented by recently-retired surveyor Bob Harrison, offers practical solutions to these challenges. The workshop provides in-depth explanations of survey plan components, the different ways land can be measured, the reliability and limitations of older registered plans, limitations of useful tools such as SIX Maps, and offers guidance on how to identify and address potential errors.

Please note: This is a longer session (running approximately 2 hours) so ensure you set aside enough time or plan to run it over two or more sessions. We recommend watching the recording in smaller segments to maximize your understanding and retention.
